   Our Story

All my life my family has called me "Ellie Mae" because of my love for animals, especially dogs. I can't remember a time when I didn't have one or two or more:)  So, in 2002, when I learned about the up and coming Labradoodle breed, I just knew I had found my calling. Several months later, after a lot of prayer and many emails between myself and Rochelle, a unanimous decision was made in our household. The Lord willing, we would sell our home in Florida and relocate in Oregon. We got on Rochelle's waiting list for puppies and God blessed every decision we had to make thereafter. My husband was offered better employment, our home sold in less than a month and we found the home and property we were looking for before we left Florida! He truly blessed us in every way! The hardest part was knowing how long we would have to wait for our puppies. At that time, Spring Creek's waiting list was a year and a half long!

Little Miss Journey

At Happy Tails, we are proud to consider ourselves among those who refer to themselves as quality breeders. We perform all sorts of health testing on all of the dogs we place in our program for breeding including PennHIP and CERF examinations. Please rest assured that your puppy has come from very healthy lines.

We have a nice home on 5 acres, with lots of room to play and grow. There are 3 dog loving adults in our home so our dogs and all our puppies get lots and lots of love and care. Our dogs live with us in our home and, as our program grows, some will be placed in approved guardian homes with families who will be keeping them after they retire from our program. We will never build a kennel on our property. Labradoodles are like rag dolls in your arms. They love to play and they love to snuggle. They love to play outdoors but they are not to be housed outdoors. They have to be with their people as much as humanly possible because they really believe they're little humans themselves. Most of the time we agree with them!
